Dogs sprawl like lawn chairs in overgrown lawns. The air is acrid with salt or smoke and the barns stand at a thirty degree tilt.  In a softer time in a crueler world, the barns stood tall and proud, gleaming. The dogs ran. Fast and free and wild and summer. I bare my teeth in the rearview mirror to the tune of silly pop songs. I bare my teeth at the moon and the stars and all of this big small world and in particular, I bare my teeth at you.

THROUGH WHACKING CHISELS WITH A RUBBER MALLET AND THINKING A LOT ABOUT POODLES, WOMEN, AND THOSE FUNNY DRAWINGS OF MEDIEVAL HUNTING DOGS

To be frank, I am experiencing some feelings. But I am also on a creative high right now. A perfect time to change fixations on symbolic animals! Goodbye to the fish and hellooo to the DOG! In the print above, I focused in on the poodle and its relationship to femininity through the lens of anger. Now I am moving through it. This is how I am dealing with it. Yes. Dogs. Yes. Fish? Also yes. Some of my work will not have visible dogs but do know that I was thinking about them! Or fish. I could have still been thinking about fish.

Anyway! Here is some work:
